Six fit and fab aspiring fitness models made 2020 count by going after their dreams. Their decision to enter the Biogen Face of Fitness cover model search paid off, with each finalist taking a giant leap forward in their modelling careers.
The annual search for new talent in the fitness industry once again delivered stunning results, with six deserving contestants emerging from a record field of top quality entrants. It was an intensive process to arrive at the final six.
Two rounds of public voting and deliberations from the competition’s judging panel whittled down the number of aspiring cover models from a record 351 entries to 32, then to 12 and then the final six.
And now we are delighted to announce our winner, the Biogen Face of Fitness 2020 and the latest Fitness magazine cover model, Katy Allderman!

Balanced is how you’d describe fitness professional Katy’s approach to exercise. It’s all about creating a maintainable lifestyle.
“I try to stay fit, healthy and toned all year round. I don’t do anything in extremes but focus on health and what my body is telling me.”
As a biokineticist who runs her own practice, Katy is in the gym all day, every day.
“I love training and focus a lot on core stabilisation and glute strengthening. I like to keep things interesting and maintain my motivation, so I change things up regularly.”
Katy would like to use her profile in the industry to help reshape the perceptions, along with the physiques, of more South African women.
“There is this misconception among women that skinny is beautiful. This puts a lot of pressure on us, which causes many to miss out on life. Many women sacrifice their health and fitness goals to reach this misguided ideal, only to find that they are unhealthy. Many never feel good and vibrant after reaching this goal because of all this neglect.”
Katy hopes to use the Face of Fitness platform to teach women to start loving their bodies and how to nourish them.
“That means giving it the nutrients it needs, but not overindulging. It also means moving our bodies to keep them strong, but not killing ourselves to meet unattainable goals.”
