If you are tired of protein shakes and need to refresh your post-workout meal, this Crispy Protein Chaffles recipe is a game-changer.

Melding the viral low-carb “chaffle” (cheese + waffle) with high-quality nutrition, these waffles are crispy, cheesy, and packed with lean protein.

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop Biogen Premium Iso-Whey, Vanilla Ice Cream flavour
  • ¼ cup egg whites
  • ½ cup zucchini, finely grated and squeezed dry
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper

Biogen Premium Iso-Whey is an easily absorbed protein shake that contains high levels of EAAs and BCAAs from a Tri Matrix Protein Blend that contains whey protein hydrolysate, isolate, and concentrate.

Instructions

  1. Grate the zucchini using a fine grater. Place the grated zucchini in a clean dish towel or paper towel and squeeze out as much moisture as physically possible.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg whites and protein powder until smooth. Stir in the squeezed zucchini, parmesan cheese, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. The batter will be thick.
  3. Preheat your waffle iron. Lightly spray it with a non-stick cooking spray or a wipe of olive oil.
  4. Pour the batter onto the hot waffle iron, spreading it slightly toward the edges. Close the lid and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Avoid opening the lid too early.
  5. Carefully remove the waffle. Let it sit on a cooling rack for 1–2 minutes before serving.
  6. Top with smashed avocado and a poached egg, or a dollop of low-fat cream cheese, smoked salmon, and capers.
