adidas has launched its new Originals Sport training collection that brings together the unmistakable style codes of adidas Originals with the performance technologies women expect from adidas.
The collection responds to a growing desire for individuality. Inspired by the iconic DNA of adidas Originals and engineered for performance, adidas Originals Sport challenges the idea that workout wear has to look a certain way, encouraging women to express their personal style without compromising on performance.

Redefining performance workout wear
“For years, there was an expectation that serious training came with a certain uniform” said Lisann Costello, VP Product Design Partnerships & Sports Marketing at adidas.
“Today, women are redefining what performance looks like. They want workout wear that reflects who they are, not just what they’re doing.
“Originals Sport brings together the style heritage of adidas Originals with the performance expertise adidas is known for, allowing women to train without compromising between performance and self-expression.”
Rooted in decades of Originals style codes and engineered with adidas performance expertise, the Originals Sport collection brings together two of the brand’s most iconic strengths, sport performance and street style, in a way that feels distinctly adidas.

Classic style reinterpreted
Inspired by the iconic Superstar tracksuit, the collection reinterprets classic adidas Originals design codes through a modern training lens.
Trefoil branding, feminine cut lines and expressive proportions with an unexpected colour palette alongside performance technologies designed to support movement, comfort and confidence.
The collection delivers a complete training wardrobe with personality, underpinned by purpose-built technical materials designed to support comfort without compromising style.
Key pieces include:
- Bras: Low and medium support, featuring AdiSOFT for breathable comfort and LYCRA® ADAPTIV for a breathable and flexible fit.
- Leggings: 7/8 and full-length leggings made with LYCRA® ADAPTIV for unrestricted movement.
- Tops: Superstar Bra Tee and Originals Sport Tank Padded made with CLIMACOOL technology to support ventilation and cooling.
- Layering pieces: Superstar Midlayer and Originals Sport Coverup – lightweight and versatile layering pieces.
- Onesie: a bold, all-in-one statement piece that’s perfect for creative layering.
The local campaign is fronted by Zama Marubelela, Lindiwe Dim, and Thati Zulu – three women who naturally move between culture, creativity, and sport, reflecting the world that Originals Sport was designed for.
The new Originals Sport is available on adidas.co.za and retail stores from 6 August in Night Indigo, Warm Vanilla, and Black, with the Maroon colourway launching 15 September.
