This Immunity Boost Smoothie recipe is a delicious and nutritious way to support your immune system and fuel your body with essential nutrients.
Packed with the vibrant flavours of beetroot and carrot juice, together with a medley of fruits, protein powder, and leafy greens, these smoothies are the perfect pick-me-up your immune system needs this winter.
Ingredients
- Beetroot juice
- Carrot juice
- 1 ½ cups diced frozen bananas
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks
- 1 scoop plant protein powder, Vanilla flavour
- Baby spinach or kale leaves
- Milk alternative of choice
Beetroots are rich in betalains, powerful antioxidants that help combat harmful free radicals in the body. These free radicals can damage cells and contribute to chronic diseases. Beetroots also contain vitamin C, which is an essential nutrient for immune function, as it helps stimulate the production of white blood cells, which are the body’s defenders against infection.
Method
- Divide the diced frozen bananas and frozen mango chunks equally between two blender jars or containers. Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to each jar, along with a handful of baby spinach or kale leaves.
- Pour a dash of milk into each jar to help with the blending and top it off with Rugani Beet Juice in one jar and Rugani Carrot Ginger Juice in the other. Secure the lids tightly and blend until the ingredients are smooth and creamy.
- Once blended, pour the smoothies into glasses and serve them with a dash of milk or yoghurt for an added boost of protein and probiotics.
